My Thoughts On Election Day

"He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, they did not recognize him." John 1:10
Last night I opened up my bible to the book of John and this was the first verse I saw. You could say my mind was immediately flooded with an overwhelming feeling of sadness.
The Lord is here in this world with us, but our nation is no longer acknowledging him.
And this is where I see the biggest problem.
It's more than who gets elected to lead this nation.
See, our nation doesn't need another leader.
We need a king.
And actually, we have a king, but no one recognizes that.
As Americans we are so quick to pick a side: Democrat or Republican, for or against, with or without, but what does picking those sides really do for us?
Picking a side doesn't give us answers, it simply gives us a reason to feel like we belong and that our opinion matters.
Which, don't get me wrong, our opinions do matter, and we should stand up for what we believe in by selecting a side who feels similarly, but at the end of the day, does picking a side really give you much relief?
For me, it doesn't.
I can point fingers all day long, I can express my concerns, and my beliefs but the final decision is not up to the side that I choose.
No, the final decision for our nation is up to God.
When it comes down to it, He is in control.
So as a nation shouldn't we want to side with that?
Side with someone who is already on the other side of this election?
Oh, I forgot that we don't recognize that anymore.
We don't acknowledge who God is and what God is capable of doing.
I say "we" as though I am talking about everyone, but I'm not.
I know there are many that still choose to acknowledge the Lord daily, but I also know that there is a nation full of leaders that don't.
This is what scares me.
What happened to being one nation under God?
What happened to being indivisible?
What happened to liberty and justice for ALL?
Well, I will tell you what happened, our nation decided to attempt to be over God.
We tried to do it better.
We tried to make our own decisions, give ourselves the credit, and put God on America's back burner.
And that, my friends, is why we are going down hill.
That is why we are now a divided nation, always picking sides.
Actually looking to the side we have chosen for hope.
I can tell you one thing, my hope does not come from a side, my hope comes from the Lord.
As a nation we need to stop looking to the right or to the left, but start looking up to the one who is what we built our nation up on in the first place.
He gave our nation hope.
He was the reason to success.
And the moment we start recognizing this again, we will start to see the change we need.
People are still going to try to claim that we are no longer a nation under God. People will still try to get rid of Him.
But, through this verse from John, we are reminded that He is in the world, even when our world does not recognize him anymore.
My reason for posting this wasn't to discourage you, or make you feel guilty for picking a side.
When it comes to this election, I have picked a side too, but I am not going to look to that side for my hope of America.
I am only going to look up at Jesus and ahead towards all that He already knows!
God is with us and our nation!
God casted His own vote today, and it wasn't for a presidential candidate.
It was for our hope!
It was for the future of America!
He votes in favor of us trusting Him instead of trusting the different sides, the media, and other Americans.
Cast another vote today!
Be in favor of trusting God and knowing that He is working in this election even more than both political parties.
He is above the electoral college and the popular vote!
Stand firm in knowing that HE is already there, on the other side of this!
God knows the tomorrows of American and he holds our today, our election day.
Cast your vote towards Jesus and I promise you will not be disappointed with the results.
