Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! I am so thankful for each of you today and the amount of appreciation and support you all have shown me.
Today is a day to celebrate every single reason we have to be thankful.
Our family.
Friends.
Spouses/ Significant others.
Pets.
Our jobs.
Hobbies.
Homes.
Another day of life.
And, of course, our breath-taking God.
We have so much to be thankful for!
Of course, I would love to share all of my thoughts on how I feel about this wonderful day, but I have to keep my focus on its purpose, which is this study.
Yesterday we dove into God’s word.
We let God expose us in different areas of our lives and reveal answers and fulfillment to us through scripture.
We technically walked around my apartment and dove deeply into our areas of focus.
And by walked, I mean opened up folders in a Google Document, which by the way I would LOVE your feedback about. Let me know what you thought! Contact me
After we spent time in different sections we answered questions and completed our daily challenge, which was choosing a focus verse and sharing it with me.
Today’s exercise has to do with giving, which is fitting because today is a day where we give thanks, but we will also be giving in other ways too.
First of all, I want you to give, well, share your focus verse with someone else today.
This could be a family member you are enjoying your Thanksgiving meal with.
Or maybe a friend you talk to on a regular basis.
Maybe your spouse or significant needs to receive this verse.
Whoever it is, share your verse with them and explain to them a little about why you are focusing on it this week.
I encourage you to physically give them that verse, too.
Write it out on a notecard, type it up in an email or text, and physically give it to them.
This is a way for you to rub off on them.
Sharing this verse could make a bigger impact on them than you think.
It could speak fulfillment, truth, and peace to them just as it did to you.
Then, the second way we are going to give today is by giving another verse to add into the study.
This is a study that is ongoing, and constantly growing.
It will constantly build on itself through each of us.
Think about a verse that you are naturally drawn too.
It doesn’t have to be from this study.
It could be a verse that you find yourself constantly turning to, seeing, or experiencing.
Then, think about an area of your life where it typically speaks to you.
Find that verse, recognize the area you use it in, and send it my way (make sure you tell me what category to put it in so I can add it in the right place.)
This is a way for us to understand how sharing our faith and experiences with others can also help others.
So not only has a scripture helped you, but it could help someone else too.
This study will always be available for people to participate in.
People can join in whenever they feel they need to.
Even some of us might choose to walk through it again at some point because what God exposed us to this week won’t be the same as what He might reveal next month.
You don’t know who might come as they are in the next week and take a walk through my apartment.
And, what if your verse is the verse one the can’t get enough on?
What if it was what that person needed?
What if your verse becomes the one that they choose to focus in on and apply to their own life?
I don’t know about you but the thought of that just brings a smile to my face.
I love seeing how easily our faith can make an impact on someone.
So after you share your current focus verse with someone today and give me a verse to add to my virtual walls (the Google folders), answer the questions below, then complete today’s challenge!
Choose to give today: through thanks, through sharing an experience, and sharing God’s word!
MKG
Dear God,
Thank you for Your word! Thank you for giving me this verse this week. Help me to continue to apply it to my life throughout the rest of the week. I ask that today You show me who I could share this verse with. Who in my life needs a piece of Your word? Thank you for accepting me for who I am, and reminding me that I can find answers and fulfillment through you. Help me remind someone of this truth!
Amen
Questions:
Who did you share your verse with today?
How did they react?
How did this verse apply to their life? If they didn’t tell you this, how does this verse apply to your own life today?
What verse did you give to the study?
What area/section are you “placing” it in?
What situation has this verse helped you through?
After sharing/giving today, do you feel more compelled to do so every day? Did you see a clear reason as to why we share our faith with others? Did you feel as though you made an impact even if this person didn’t express so?
How did giving scripture to others make you feel? Write about your experience today.
Today’s Challenge:
Part 1: Share the Come As You Are Study with someone in your life. Pray and ask God to reveal someone to you who needs it in their life. Someone that needs to come as they are and be exposed to God’s truth. I encourage you to also share your experience with them! Tell them how God has worked in your life through coming as you are. If this person choosing to join in, be their encourager through their journey.
Part 2: Let me know how your experience of giving went! (Question 8)
