Come As You Are: Reflect

This week…

We’ve come to God, as we are.

We’ve been exposed to areas of work and struggle in our lives.

We’ve dove into His word.

We’ve picked a piece of His word to focus in on.

We’ve given His word.

And now, we reflect.

We reflect back on what this week has done, specifically what God has done.

What He exposed us to, what He provided us with.

We reflect on our attitude throughout the exercises and how it as changed.

We compare our definition of God from the start of the study to the end.

We will look at who we were before and who we are after.

Today’s exercise walks you through questions that allow you to review this study, give me feedback, and give yourself feedback, too!

I want you to answer each question honestly.

Allow yourself to be open about what you really got from this study.

Then, complete today’s challenges!

Before you reflect on your time with the study, here is a little bit of my own reflection:

For those of you who have followed along this week, and for those who are going to coming up… THANK YOU.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

I was so nervous to share this study with everyone because I was not sure how everyone would react, but you all proved me wrong.

God proved me wrong!

The amount of response, interaction, and support I have gotten from all of you has been tremendous and I cannot thank you enough.

I hope that you were able to truly be who you are this week and take exactly what you needed!

I hope that this study has touched you and encouraged you.

I hope that this will not just be a one and done, but something that you come back to and take what you need from it!

My intentions for this study were to provide you with a way to gain the support from not only Lines of Faith (through the visual folders), but from God & His word for areas of your lives.

I wanted to create something interactive that allowed me to put together a different way of studying and digging deeper into God’s word.

What originally started out as a small bible study topic in my apartment here in Jacksonville, turned into a virtual study that I was able to provide you with thanks to God.

He answered my prayer, gave me inspiration and led me in the direction to go.

I am so thankful for His direction in all that I do through Lines Of Faith, as well as all of your support and feedback that make it all possible and worth continuting.

My journey with Lines Of Faith and these studies have just begun. I cannot wait to see what ideas God inspires me with next!

And, one thing that I have learned so far on this journey is that, it doesn’t matter if you have a following or not, it doesn’t matter if you feel as though you aren’t making a difference, what matters is that I am doing it solely for the Lord! And, that I am making a difference by just following through with what He has put in my life and heart!

Let’s continue filling up faithfully & see what will happen next!

QUESTIONS:

  1. You answered this question before the study, but I want you to answer it again to see if your definition of yourself has changed. Who are you? After walking through this study, do you feel confident in coming as you are? Will come you as you are from now on? Do you feel as though coming to God and letting Him reveal things in you made a difference?

  2. What is something you can do to remind yourself to be who you are? How can you remember to come to God first? Will you choose to come to God first?

  3. Do you think you would walk through this study again? If, down the road you felt as though you had new areas of focus, would you view the folders? What were your thoughts on the folders? Is it something you think you would contribute to even if you were not completing the study (would you send in a verse to add if you came across one you felt compelled to share)?

  4. Your exercise yesterday walked you through questions about who God was to you during this study. How did your definition change?

  5. Do you feel more compelled to share your faith with others after walking through this study? Do you feel as though you could confidently share and explain your experience of coming as you are? Do you think what you learned about yourself and about God could make a difference in someone else’s life? Could it make a difference in you?

  6. Are you still quick to doubt God after completing this study? Are you more willing to be patient and trust Him over your surroundings?

  7. Do you feel as though you could have a new area of confidence after this study? Do you think this study gave you strength in a new area? Where do you feel God the most now?

  8. Did applying a focus scripture help you this week? Did you find yourself using it daily? Is it one you will continue to focus in on?

  9. After this study are you going to be more open to the needs in your life? Do you view God as being a necessity now?

  10. Does this study compel you to do more now? If so, what? (Ex. Read the bible more, pray more, share your faith, etc.). What goals could you create for yourself for your walk with faith knowing the importance of coming as you are? How could you expand this study for yourself?

  11. What questions do you still have? What would you have included in this study?

  12. If you did not leave this study feeling unchanged, why? What are your thoughts/ reactions? What could have been done differently to help you get the most out of it?

  13. Did you honestly follow through this week and come as you are? Did you slack in specific sections? Do you this this affected the outcome? Would you go back and redo the sections if you had time?

  14. For future studies, what was your favorite part? What exercise was your favorite? What did you dislike? Was there enough interaction? What could I do differently next time?

  15. What type of topics would you be interested in for a future study? What areas of the bible are you wanting to dig deeper into? What types of things do you want to learn more about.

TODAY’S CHALLENGES:

1. Visit the Study Reflection page to chat/discuss your thoughts about your experience with others who have completed the study along with you (comment box on the left hand side). Share one thing you learned about yourself, too! Fill out the contact form (on the right) to share your experience with me, as well as, any extra thoughts, questions, comments or concerns, likes or dislikes! Answer some of your reflection questions for me! I would love to personally hear from you so that I can learn and expand my understanding for future studies. If you are okay with allowing me to share your experience on my website as a Come As You Are Review, please let me know & send me a picture of you that you would be okay with me using!

2. If you got what you needed from this study, share it! Either on the comments box found on Study Reflection or social media, create an image, status, and/or a post that says: “This week I chose to come as I am in every area of my life, and through Come As You Are, I found exactly what I needed!” using the hashtag #ComeAsYouAreCompleted Tag Lines Of Faith in your post if you are not including it on the comments box!
