Matthew 6:14-15: "For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins."
If you can’t let go, you can’t move forward. An unwillingness to forgive others will immediately hinder us to move forward in the Lord’s plan for our life. We have to be willing to forgive others and move past what has happened. If we have a troublesome past, sometimes we feel as though we can’t let the past be the past or forgive ourselves, or even forgive others who played a role in that past. God forgave the unforgivable in us the moment He died on that cross. We have to be able to forgive ourselves and forgive others instead of holding grudges. Holding grudges and refusing to forgive is not going to help us move towards allowing the Writer back in. Forgiveness is key. If God forgives us, then why can’t we forgive ourselves and others? Why can’t we let go of past hurt and regret? Is there something or someone in your life that you haven’t been willing to forgive? Are you unable to forgive yourself? Take time to ask God where you might need to add a little more forgiveness. If He shows you some areas, write and reflect on those in your forgiveness journaling section. Let's learn to forgive others so that we can be wholly forgiven by God!
