Today we are remembering who we belong to. Let’s take a look at Ephesians 2:19-22 this morning. It reads: “So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family. Together, we are His house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself. We are carefully joined together in Him, becoming a holy temple for the Lord. Through Him you Gentiles are also being made part of this dwelling where God lives by His Spirit.” A church building is sometimes called God’s house. In reality, God’s household is not a building but a group of people. This verse simply states that we are members of God’s family. We are THIS house, built on His firm foundation. He lives in us and shows himself to us and works through us. Others are able to see that God is love and as we live in harmony in this household, living according to His word. So, if you are waking up today, feeling unloved, unimportant or insecure, remember to whom you belong to. You belong to God’s household. You belong to a home that is filled with truth and promise, freedom and love. Through this house you are given purpose and meaning. Within this house, there is acceptance and peace, finding joy throughout. & The owner of this house WELCOMES you in. He wants you to live in His house, forever and ever. He wants you to find shelter from life’s storms, comfort in the uncomfortable, and hope in the losses. He wants you to feel LOVED, IMPORTANT, and SECURE. He invites you to have a home that will never fail you or leave you. Praise God for offering up His home to us. Because of Him, we belong. We need to remember this today. Even when the world makes us feel small, lonely, and lost, we know where we belong and who we owe it all to!
