“As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.” Ecclesiastes 11:5 Lately, I’ve tried to make sense of my path. Almost convincing myself that I knew exactly what God was doing in my life. But, let’s be honest I can’t even begin to understand. I want to know there’s a purpose for the pain I’ve endured. I want to know the reason for each closed door. I want to know how my gifts are being used. But, I forget it doesn’t work this way. How many of you wrestle with this, too? How many of you long for specifics? I know I do. I’m a girl who loves detail, so I beg for God to show me. Like the details in the fabric, though sometimes you just can’t focus on every single stitch. It’s like a quilt. So many beautiful patterns stitched together in some intricate way, leaving us with a beautiful completed piece. Do you question the stitches, though? No. Probably not. So why do we question God? Because, this is how our marvelous Maker works. He forms our lives like a quilt, stitching every piece together in a specific way, with the end result being beautiful. But for some reason we need to know the reason for every stitch in between because we want to question it. We want to question what God is doing. We want to make since of it all. We want to know why. We don’t allow our hearts to just TRUST. We forget that each stitch, each detail has specific reason and a specific placement & sometimes those reasons won’t be known. Sometimes, we have to allow our hearts to recognize that those stitches are there because God said the needed to be there. Every detail of our lives has been planned by our Maker. He knows what He’s doing, so rather than question it, let’s celebrate it. Let’s take a minute recognize the whole picture. Stop focusing on that one stitch that you can’t get past. Focus on what that stitch did for you. Focus on how God used it to do so much more. Each stitch has shaped you & is making you into who He intended you to be. And rather than trying to understand why, just let it & yourself BE and TRUST the One behind the details. ❤️ MKG
