Girl, keep your focus. 👏🏼 @bethmoorelpm spoke some real truth about focus this morning. She mentions that “we become the object of our focus”. Challenging my heart to then recognize, okay, what am I focusing on? Is it my problems or is it Christ? When Christ is our central focus, we become more Christ-like & isn’t that the ultimate goal as Christians? Paul presses us to focus on the heavenly goal ➡️ receiving our heavenly rewards. (Philippians 4:13-14). Paul continuously reminds us about focus, even again in Philippians 4:8: “Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable.” Y’all he’s talking about JESUS. We must devote our thoughts to Jesus to refrain from entanglements. As God’s soldiers (2 Tim. 2:3-4), who WILL “endure sufferings” must not get “tied up in the affairs of civilian life”. That civilian life is the way of life the world entices us to focus on. The worldly things that grasp our focus so quickly. We must not get entangled in these things but keep focus on Jesus. Especially keeping our focus on His word. Hebrews 2:1 says: “So we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away.” Sis, being grounded in His word is so important. We don’t want to drift from what is PURE, we want to create a pure FOCUS ➡️ JESUS CHRIST! When our focus is away from Him, we become weighed down & all tripped up. In order to fight the GOOD fight of faith, we need to keep up our endurance and run the race God has put before us by keeping our eyes on Jesus (Hebrews 12:1-2). So, check yourself and fix your focus.. Fill up on what is so freely given to us. Remember those resources I mentioned a few days ago? Yeah? USE THEM. Shift your focus into His word & be ready to use what He’s pressing you to focus on. 1 Peter 3:15 challenges us to “always be ready to explain” the reason we have hope... JESUS! And, when our focus is on JESUS, our hearts are equipped with what we need to ignite this hope found in Jesus in others. How can you fix your focus today? MKG
