Prayer ➡️ an important aspect of spiritual growth & the one I knew my heart needed to pursue more of this year. Prayer has always been something the enemy has made feel awkward in my life. Many of you might feel this too? Praying might come easy during a time of struggle, but what about prayer as a daily practice? It’s easy to call out to God in our desperate times, but what about coming to Him fully in conversation? Or, how about praying openly with a group? 🙋🏼 y’all my BIGGEST struggle. I immediately find some way to talk myself out of doing it, which ends with me just saying “I forgot to open up in prayer.” No, Madi. You didn’t forget, you simply didn’t do it. Another area I feel a huge resistance to pray is in my marriage, specifically with my spouse. & of course the enemy doesn’t want us to meet with God in this way, so he finds some way to shut it down. True FAITH takes WORKS. It takes application. It takes stepping out, and DOING. So with prayer, we must DO! Openly, privately, in our hearts, filing the pages of a journal, with a friend, at our bible study, during church services... prayer is necessary everywhere! Of course prayer feels awkward, uncomfortable, and uncertain. Prayer is IMPORTANT, we know this, God knows this, but so does the enemy & he will do everything to stop it. So if you’re like me... and the enemy uses every chance he can get to shut it down, I challenge you to resist! I challenge you to push pass the discomfort he convinces you of & PRAY. Put prayer first. In your life. In your relationships. In your marriage. In your every action. Step up & pray when others won’t. Pray for people in your life. & pray in a way that allows you to have a conversation with God, everyday. To enhance my prayer life in 2019 I am participating in the #WeeklyPrayerChallenge & week one discusses requests & asking confidently. So, I open up this post to your prayer requests. How can I pray for you today? 🙏🏼 MKG
