The last few days have been a little crazy. Between working on a few fun projects & packing up our first home, I feel like I haven’t stopped moving. Yesterday, I was loading things into my car, and just before backing out I noticed my study Bible just sitting in the seat. In all of the chaos I must have forgotten to bring it inside. At first, I was frustrated with myself because after taking about 10 trips back and forth from inside our apartment to the car, how could I have not made a trip to bring this back inside? How could I have forgotten this? Isn’t the Bible, more specifically His word within, supposed to be something to recognize & use daily? Isn’t it something we are supposed to remember and cling to in times of trouble or chaos? And here I was, forgetting it in my car. It took for that chaos to stop in order for me to recognize that my Bible was still in the car. I think this is how our faith works sometimes, too. We often get into phases of life that are busier than others. And in those phases we often forget to remember Jesus. We forget to open our hearts to His word and start our days with prayer. We forget to use His wisdom for guidance and find rest within the sanctuary of His love. But, the incredible thing is is that though we forget God doesn’t. He’s still there. Just like my Bible was still there after a few days of forgetting it. It just took a slower moment to realize this. Let’s not wait for slower moments to find God. Let’s not choose Him after the fact, but seek Him during it. If you know your day is going to be troublesome or filled with anxious thoughts, big to-do lists, or even crazy schedules, then immediately wake up and make the choice to turn it over to Him. Make the choice to recognize Him and keep Him by your side, rather than forget He’s there. He wants to help you. He wants to guide you. He wants to fill you. He doesn’t want to be forgotten on your passenger seat. Let Him be with you, driving. Today, choose Jesus. Choose to take Him with you into that busy day or busy season. Don’t forget Him and find Him tomorrow, use Him today. See what difference He can make in your chaos.
