“The Lord is my light and my salvation, so why should I be afraid?" Right away this passage hits me. Fear is darkness that overpowers us! A shadow that imprisons us! We have all been prisoners of fear at one point or another, but through Christ's light we don't have to be. We can conquer fear! In this Psalm, David asks to live in the house of the Lord, delighting in His perfections! He knows the house of the Lord will conceal him when times of trouble come. He knows that the Lord will place him on a high rock above his enemies! Let the salvation of God place you on a rock today! Be above your fears. "Hold your head high, above your enemies that surround you"! Pray out to God. He's tapping on your heart asking you to come and talk to Him! He wants you release your fears onto Him. He wants to protect you and conceal you away. Let your heart respond "Lord, I am coming"!! Let's come to Jesus tonight. Let's lay your fears at His feet. Surrender to His light! Let it overwhelm your fears and conquer your troubles. Hold your head above those against you and "remain confident" in Christ! Though the mighty army of the enemy surrounds us, our hearts do not need to be afraid- for God's light shines through! MKG
